A little extra luck and guidance never hurt anybody and this is the reason why more and more people are welcoming the wisdom of Feng Shui guidance in their life. Feng Shui (pronounced as Fung Shway) is a 3000 year old Chinese practice that balances the various elements of wind, water, earth and fire and the male and female energies to achieve peace, harmony and success. The four major aspects of every individual’s life are career, health, wealth and relationships and this practice can play a positive role in each of these aspects. All the four aspects are equally important in every individual’s life and if one is negatively affected it can cause immense dissatisfaction and trouble. One such crucial area of our life is our health and Feng Shui health tips can ensure that we maintain a positive environment conducive to the health of all the family members.

If we have noticed that someone or the other constantly falls ill and there seems to be a lot of negativity in the atmosphere, maybe its time to reanalyze the way your house or office layout has been designed and the décor of the living space. At times all that Feng Shui health tips suggest is the re-arrangement of the existing set of furniture in your house or office. This kind of shuffling allows the chi (energy) to flow in a positive manner and bring in good health and prosperity into your life. The direction in which we sleep is also a crucial factor under the Feng Shui health tips and guidance. Each of us has a number calculated according to our date of birth and this is known as the kua number. The kua number provides the auspicious and inauspicious directions for each of the four areas of our life, health being one of them.

The kua number guides us in knowing the right direction for an individual to sleep in and another direction that promotes good health. If you are genuinely interested in implementing Feng Shui health tips, then it would be best to memorize the directions and use them accordingly to the best of your advantage. Also, ensure that you have no dead or dried flowers in the house, as they contain an excess of Yin energy which is negative for the health of the individuals in the house. Alternatively you could consider keeping artificial or synthetic flowers to achieve your aesthetic satisfaction.

The lighting and décor of every room also plays an important role while implementing the corrective Feng Shui health tips. The light should be moderate and never too harsh to induce positive vibes in an environment. Also the entrance of a home or office should be well lighted to attract positive energies into your life. The ulu is another popular object used to positively influence the health of the individuals living in the house. In order to upgrade your life and invite prosperity, peace and harmony into your life, get the advice and counsel of an authentic Feng Shui expert and see the positive changes taking place.

Good oral hygiene is vital if you want to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Here are some valuable dental health tips that will help you do just that.

Brushing
The first step in getting and maintaining good dental health is brushing your teeth. Here are some standard guidelines for the proper way to brush your teeth:

• You should brush your teeth at least twice a day. Take your time and make sure the job is done thoroughly.

• Use the right kind of tools for the job. This includes a fluoride toothpaste and a brush with soft bristles. Hard bristles are too stiff to use on the gums and may make them bleed. You might even think about using an electric or battery-operated brush.

• There is a right and wrong way to brush your teeth. The correct technique to follow is to angle the brush to your teeth and use very short back and forth or circular motions. Don’t forget to brush the insides of the teeth and the chewing surfaces. You should also brush your tongue to get rid of bacteria.

• Replace your toothbrush every three to four months.

What are the repercussions of not brushing your teeth adequately or often enough? The answer would be mainly cavities. Cavities are areas of decay that eventually turn into small holes or openings in the teeth. Besides not brushing well, cavities can be caused by constant snacking and drinking sugary drinks. If a cavity goes untreated it can result in a toothache, infection, and even loss of the tooth.

Flossing
Flossing is very important in order to clean between the snug areas between the teeth that the toothbrush can’t get to. Here are some tips for good flossing habits:

• Be sure you use enough floss so that you can get it wound securely around the middle finger of each hand. Use about 18 inches and leave about one each area to do the flossing.

• Use your thumbs and forefingers to guide the floss from the gum to the top of the tooth. Repeat this for both sides of each tooth. Unwind the floss from your fingers as you go to use fresh floss.

• Some people have trouble getting the floss through their teeth, especially if they have teeth that are set close together. Waxed floss works well or you might try a floss holder.

Flossing is required to make sure plaque doesn’t build up between your teeth. This is what causes gingivitis. Gingivitis is a mild version of periodontal disease. It can cause the gums to swell and bleed when you brush your teeth.

If you don’t floss for two or three days at a time, the plaque can build up under your gums and turn into tartar, which is the perfect environment for bacteria to grow. Once plaque turns to tartar, the only way to get rid of it is get a cleaning from an oral hygienist.

Other Tips
There are a few other things you can do to make sure your teeth and gums are at their healthiest.

• Use an antiseptic mouthwash after brushing a flossing.

• Oral irrigators are great for removing food particles that get trapped in the teeth. Oral irrigators shoot a stream of water around your teeth.

• Toothpicks should not be used instead of flossing. In fact, toothpicks can injure your gums.

As every parent knows children can be very picky eaters and can consume junk foods that have little nutritional value. Does this mean that every child should be taking a multivitamin? The answer to this question is not necessarily, as long as the child is getting a balanced diet he or she can receive the nutrients and vitamins they need through food intake. The problem arises when a child is eliminating a whole food group from their diets, suffers from a chronic disease, is not getting the proper amount of sunlight in their daily activities or does not drink vitamin-D fortified milk. This is when supplementation is probably a good idea. You should always consult your physician before starting your child on a multivitamin.

What Should You Look for in a Childs Multivitamin?

You should always choose a multivitamin that is specifically formulated for children. Giving a child a supplement formulated for an adult is not a good idea. Children have smaller bodies and require fewer nutrients. For example, studies have shown that too much iron can be harmful to developing bodies. You need to be aware and follow the recommended daily dosage and remind the child that this is not candy. Always administer vitamin supplements under the supervision of a parent, even if the child is responsible enough to do it themselves.

What Vitamins and Minerals are Important to Your Child’s Health

Vitamin A – Milk and infant formulas are a very important source of vitamin A. A deficiency can occur in children with fat malabsorption or a very poor diet

Vitamin C – Many parents provide too much vitamin C to prevent colds and upper respiratory problems. Lack of vitamin C can cause scurvy which is uncommon but can occur in children under the age of one year.

Iron – This is important in a child’s growth because it promotes strong muscles and blood production. It is good to feed children a diet high in iron.

Calcium – This is a very important mineral for producing and maintaining strong bones. It is also an important mineral in preventing the onset of osteoporosis as we age.

Vitamin K – This is important in proper blood clotting. It can be deficient in newborns that did not receive a vitamin K shot or are being exclusively breast feed.

Fluoride – Children need fluoride after the age of six months to prevent cavities. Normally tap water is a good source of fluoride. If a child is only drinking bottled water or well water you may want to talk to your doctor about supplementation.

Zinc – This is a very important mineral for adolescents as it promotes sexual maturity.

In conclusion, it is very important that we, as parents, are aware of the nutritional requirements of our children during different stages of development. A decision needs to be made if the child is receiving proper nutrition through their diets or there are holes in the eating habits which would better be dealt with through supplementation. Remember to always consult your child’s doctor before putting them on any supplements.
